Canada's spy agency goes offensive
Editor’s Note: Congratulations to Greypoint Industries — the team that took home top prize at Canada’s first-ever Defence Tech Hackathon last year, which we were proud to host here at The Icebreaker. Jordan and the rest of the crew have now earned a spot in Y Combinator. From an Arctic-sovereignty idea built in a single weekend to one of the most competitive accelerators in the world — that’s exactly the kind of ambition we started The Icebreaker to champion. We couldn’t be prouder, and we’ll be watching what comes next. 🎯 Three-Shot Burst Canada’s electronic spy agency doesn’t usually brag. But buried in CSE’s 2025–2026 annual report — released this week — is a first: CSE publicly confirmed it conducted an active cyberoperation against foreign criminals brokering fentanyl precursor chemicals, disrupting and “diminishing their ability to operate.” It also disclosed it took concurrent action against 10 of the most significant ransomware groups harming Canada and allies…

Attackers are exploiting CVE-2026-20230 in Cisco Unified Communications Manager to gain root access through an unauthenticated SSRF path TLDR TLDR INFORMATION SECURITY 2026-06-29 🔓 ATTACKS & VULNERABILITIES XSS-TO-ROOT ATTACK DELIVERS MALICIOUS CODE VIA WI-FI SSID OR LORA NODE NAME (2 MINUTE READ) Security researcher Sasha Romijn demonstrated an XSS attack vector that delivers malicious code over the air through Wi-Fi SSIDs or LoRa node names, exploiting infrastructure web interfaces that render these network identifiers without proper sanitization. The vulnerability is especially dangerous in environments that rely on outdated embedded browsers with infrequent security updates, where a successful injection can escalate from script execution to root access on the underlying device. Defenders should audit management interfaces that display SSID or node name fields, apply input sanitization and output encoding to those components, and update embedded browsers to current versions where…

AppSec
AppSec From SQLi to RCE – Exploiting LangGraph’s Checkpointer Checkpoint Research's Yarden Porat describes three vulnerabilities in LangGraph's persistence layer, two of which chain into remote code execution against self-hosted deployments. The chain starts with a SQL injection in the SQLite checkpointer where user-controlled filter input is inserted directly into the database query, letting attackers plant fake rows into the results. Because LangGraph deserializes whatever it reads back from the checkpoint table, the planted row triggers an unsafe msgpack deserialization that imports and calls attacker-controlled Python functions, giving them shell access on the server. A parallel SQL injection introduces the same flaw into the Redis checkpointer. The vulnerabilities require self-hosted LangGraph deployments where the application exposes get_state_history with a user-controlled filter. Introducing Session Switcher. Swap Burp Sessions with One Click! Doyensec's Savino Sisco shares…

OpenRouter Fusion Makes Model Panels a One-Call Primitive 🧪🤝
OpenRouter Fusion Makes Model Panels a One-Call Primitive 🧪🤝 The most annoying part of using multiple models is that you usually have to become the router yourself. You ask one model, compare it with another, maybe try a third, then manually decide which answer is right. OpenRouter's new Fusion API turns that pattern into a single call. You send a prompt to Fusion, it dispatches the task to a panel of models in parallel, gives them web search and web fetch, then uses a judge model to compare the answers before producing the final response. The results are worth paying attention to: Fable 5 + GPT-5.5 fused together scored 69.0% on DRACO, beating every individual model in OpenRouter's test, including Fable 5 alone at 65.3% and GPT-5.5 alone at 60.0%. That matters because Fable 5 is Anthropic's strongest model, and Fusion still found extra lift by pairing it with another frontier model instead of treating one model as the ceiling. OpenRouter also tested a budget panel with Gemini 3…
